| Inmarsat FleetBroadband
brings the power of BGAN to the seas. It is the first global
maritime communication service to provide simultaneous voice
and high speed data services through a ‘always on' connectivity,
up to 432kbps. |

Capabilities:
- Standard IP – Up to 432kbps over a shared channel, for e-mail,
internet and intranet access
- Streaming IP – Guaranteed data rates on demand up to 256kbps
- Voice –Standard 4kbps and premium 3.1kHz audio voice services
- ISDN – Supports ISDN at 64kbps for legacy applications
- SMS text – Send and receive text messages.
Coverage:
Following the successful launch of the third Inmarsat-4
satellite in 2008, FleetBroadband will be available globally, excepting
the extreme polar regions. At service launch, it will be available
in the Indian and Atlantic ocean regions.
Terminals:
Two types of terminal are available, with different performance
capabilities and size:

Antenna is 25cm in diameter

Both terminals are designed specifically for the maritime environment
and also support voice, fax and SMS.
Applications:
FleetBroadband supports an extensive range of 'off-the-shelf' software
