Long Range Identification and Tracking (LRIT)
Long Range Identification and Tracking (LRIT) Systems
are now mandatory on all Passenger, Cargo and Offshore Drilling
vessels. With vessels needing to comply with this new IMO regulation
before 31st December 2008 to avoid large penalties, having a system
which is compact and easy to install is paramount.
Leveraging off of the expertise of both Thrane
& Thrane and Inmarsat, NSSL introduces the Sailor® TT-3000LRIT.
As required by the IMO, the system can transmit
the following information:
- Ship Identity
- Ship Position
- Date & Time of Position
The system is also able to respond to requests by member states
and the LRIT data centre to change the reporting interval from the
standard 6 hours to as often as every 15 minutes.
Acting as either a stand-alone system or as a backup to an existing
non-compliant GMDSS or SSAS System, the Sailor® TT-3000LRIT
is the cheapest and easiest way to ensure compliance, in the shortest
possible time.
