Fleet Management
Pole Star's Fleet Management system is a powerful web-based
service that provides an effective way of monitoring and managing
your fleet in real time. Designed for companies operating fleets
of all types including owners, charterers and commercial managers,
the system offers accurate reporting of your fleets' position and
status.
To track your vessel, you can use an existing Inmarsat
C transceiver such as the GMDSS terminal already installed on most
ocean-going vessels. However, if you prefer the superior reliability
of a dedicated transceiver, you can purchase Pole Star’s Fleet
Management Inmarsat D+ kit.
Pole Star offers their Fleet Management service; a flexible “pay
as you go” service for owners and operators of all types of
fleets.
The services include features such as:
- Reliable vessel tracking
- Voyage histories
- Weather forecasts
- Storm, cyclone and hurricane information
- Nearest port to vessel

suitable for both powered and unpowered fleets working in most latitudes.
A flexible "pay as you go" service, MAT

areas which may be affecting trade routes

SSAS
The ISPS Code requires every ship over 500 gt on an international
voyage to be fitted with a ship security alert system (SSAS). Pole
Star offers a choice of SSAS options, designed to ensure compliance
with SOLAS XI-2/6 SSAS regulations and associated performance standards.
Pole Star's SSAS comprises two parts: the hardware
which sends and receives signals to and from the satellite and the
online service which displays alerts and routes them to the correct
person.
Service Options
All Pole Star SSAS services are powered by Purplefinder, recognised
as the leading maritime tracking system. The web-based application
allows you to manage security alerts; to set, test and re-set the
SSAS transceiver onboard the vessel remotely from your pc; and route
notifications of alerts to designated recipients.
